Digitizing India – Contributing to PM Modi’s vision

The Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, laid out his grand vision for digitizing India at the Digital India week earlier in July. This vision was endorsed by Industry Captains such as Mukesh Ambani, Cyrus Mistry, Azim Premji, Kumar Mangalam Birla and by senior ministers of the government such as Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who were present at the event.

Earlier this year, I wrote a blog post titled “To E or not to E”. This sounded like a choice that one has to make. However this grand vision of the Prime Minister settles the debate and suggest that going E is the only option. The vision and plan of the government of India and the industry are one – Digitizing India and India’s businesses is a top priority. My co-founder Vipul and I started EisenVault with the idea to help organizations, particularly SME’s, with a digital warehouse or “godown” to store their documents quick retrieval when the document is required. This was being made possible by indexing all words from all format of documents even if they were scanned pdf’s or jepg’s.

The suggestion of the Prime Minister that, “The day is not far when we can transfer our documents into a digital godown”, was like a celebrity endorsement of our plan. We at EisenVault are committed to making it possible for companies and individuals to securely and safely store documents in a “Digital Godown” or “Digital Vault” and smartly retrieve them when required. The government’s plan of investing in improving the internet infrastructure, providing services digitally to citizens and the increasing manifold the reach of the internet into semi urban and rural India augurs well with the government’s promise of minimum government and maximum governance. This will also for sure encourage a lot of enterprises and entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas to set up business and services to provide solutions using Information Technology.

We are hoping to make our little contribution to the Prime Minister’s plan by working with organizations to digitize their documents and store electronically in the EisenVault – digital godown.
